The San Francisco de Asis Church is one of the first temples built in the city. It was here where the Franciscan order began the evangelization process in 1716. Its construction began in 1717 and after the Sanctuary to the Virgin of Guadalupe, this the most popular church among the locals residents, due to its beautiful architecture. This church is not only a place of prayer but also a cultural venue as its hosts several events. You can also try some typical food at the outdoors market in the patio. The place was rebuilt after it burned down in 1863, reason why its new decoration is of neoclassic style and dates from 1906.
