This 16th century architectural treasure was built in stone and mud in an austere and simple style. It is decorated with the symbols of the Christian passion. In the main altarpiece stands a painting of the Immaculate Conception and a sculpture of the patron saint of Cocucho: St. Bartholomew the Apostle.

The lower choir of the church is decorated with an allegory of James the Apostle, which includes a beautiful image of the archangels playing musical instruments from the Middle Ages.
